OpenCarData

Brussels/Amsterdam February 2012: DKE Aerospace Luxembourg together with partners and under the leadership of DOSS B.V, Netherlands; has been awarded a new contract on FP7-OpenCarData Project which is grouped under the GALILEO-2011-GSA-1-b Use of Galileo and EGNOS Services for mass market and in niche sectors.
OpenCarData (OCD) technology will generate real-world carbon emission profiles from passenger vehicles to contrast with the European Union legislation for Car Energy Labelling (Directive 1999/94/EC). Emission Profiles have a one-to-one relationship with a driver’s automotive behaviour, hence they provide a management tool for drivers, fleet owners, service providers & governments to share, compare & change real world – GNSS enhanced – car related CO2 emissions.
The OpenCarData application classifies as a Road User Charge type of application. The derived service could be the charging of passenger car drivers or organisations according to their emission levels in specific places. The GNSS/EGNOS accuracy and integrity will help ensure that a vehicle was on a specific road at a specific moment in time even in GNSS challenging conditions like urban canyons.
DKE Aerospace under the leadership of DOSS B.V takes responsibility in the following activities:

Market analysis and Commercial feasibility
•    Market identification and stakeholders, drivers, and segmentation
•    Define the target market and its potential sizes
•    Define the addressable market and estimate market sizes, revenues and ROI analysis
•    Organise workshop, invite speakers and stakeholders

Business development analysis and Exploitation plan
•    Value chain analysis, business model description and exploitation plan
•    Competitor analysis and product positioning
•    Cost benefit analysis

GNSSmeter

Graz, Jan. 2010: The project GNSSmeter will develop a novel GNSS receiver with sophisticated PVT (Position, Velocity, Time) and metering calculation software. Beside GPS, the receiver integrates EGNOS/EDAS data integrity for reliable metering data determination and augmented position accuracy. The first Galileo signals will be processed and will significantly increase the ability for metering calculation in urban canyons.

DKE will bring in their sound experience in the field of business model and business plan development to the GNSSmeter application

GAINS

Oberpfaffenhofen, 2010-2012: The objective of the GAINS project is the implementation of an “innovation highway” as a seamless process of coordinated Galileo downstream application innovation services, in the three main phases: idea recognition, product and services development, and new ventures creation.

The heart of the project is a special Living Lab prize within the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2010, looking for user driven suggestions for new businesses, responding to actual market needs. The thematic focus for this prize will be on health, energy and media and the three best submissions will get the opportunity to conduct a reality check trial in a suitable Living Lab. The ESNC Living Lab prize will be launched at the Galileo Application Days from 3 to 5 March 2010 in Brussels: www.application-days.eu

Further information on how to apply will be available soon at www.galileo-masters.eu

DKE Aerospace having a comprehensive portfolio of advanced strategic management, technical solutions and consultancy services will provide to the project a first level venture creation support activity ensuring linkage with leading European incubation organizations as well as with venture capitalists. DKE will mainly focus its contribution to support and coach identified cases towards actual business operations.

ASPHALT

Brussels, 2010-2012: ASPHALT is an innovative GSA FP7 GNSS project in the framework of 2007-2013 programmes. The ASPHALT study contract was awarded to a consortium led by MOBA, with partners such as Tele-Consult Austria, InPosition, DKE Aerospace Swiss, and Dynapac. The project offers advanced high precision applications in asphalt road construction process chain. The ASPHALT application is perceived as strategic and is expected to be early adopter of both EGNOS and Galileo signals in an important professional high valued market where European Union and Member States are spending billions of Euros every year. To guarantee road quality, constant monitoring and control of parameters is significant for the quality and durability of newly constructed roads. The ASPHALT components are designed to enhance the process chain with the intensive use of GNSS positioning data, and evaluate the possibilities of improving each sub-process responsible for road quality. The ASPHALT product mitigates the reduction of the quality issues, significantly increases the lifespan of roads, and reduces costs of road building and maintenance.

The role of DKE Aerospace encompasses the definition and descriptions of the Business case, commercial strategy, and Exploitation plans. The report lays emphasis on the significance of ASPHALT to pro-long the durability of newly built roads, ensures costs savings during road construction & maintenance works, and guarantee satisfaction of the end customers. In the elaboration of the business plan, all parameters that constitute added value features and performance enhancements of the ASPHALT solution were taken into consideration for determining the competitive advantage as compared with other existing systems.
